After the energy of summer, autumn invites us to slow down and turn inward. The changing season can affect both our energy levels and mental health, making it important to find balance in our lives. Yoga offers a sanctuary where we can pause, reset, and maintain harmony, both physically and mentally.

 

Instead of resisting the shift, autumn provides a wonderful opportunity to lean into the changes around us and adapt. In our studio, we create a space where you can ground yourself, explore new intentions, and cultivate a sense of calm as the year winds down.

Top mindfulness practises for your Autumn

1 - Journal to Reflect on Change

Autumn encourages us to release old patterns and embrace what’s next. Journaling is a simple, powerful tool to gain clarity. Try these prompts:


  1. What moments from the summer are you most grateful for?

  2. What can you release or let go of right now - be it thoughts, beliefs, or habits?

  3. How can you nurture yourself this season? Think about activities like journaling, warm baths, baking, autumn walks, or coming to yoga class.


2 - Breathwork to cultivate calm: 

As the season transitions and life gets busier with preparations for winter, yoga offers a calming space. During your practice, focus on breathwork - inhale peace and exhale tension. Allow the shift in your breath to bring mindfulness and relaxation into your body.


3 - Embrace moments to ground: 

In your yoga practice, bring attention to how your body connects with the earth. Whether it’s the grounding sensation of your feet in Warrior II or the your forehead on the earth in Child’s Pose, these moments help cultivate steadiness and remind us to stay present.
