Yin Yoga
Service Description
Yin is yoga at its coolest, quietest, stillest, most rejuvenating depths. A slow-paced style, inviting you to gently hold poses for longer periods of time, to improve flexibility in the body and increase circulation to the joints. Our bodies build up connective tissue (fascia) in many ways, and this is what causes us to feel 'tight' or 'stiff'. The work of this practice is to release these layers of connective tissue, leaving you feeling free, open, mobile, and overall healthier in your body. Rooted in the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine, using the extended length of time in each pose to release blockages in our meridians (energy lines throughout the body) and explore the challenge of physical & mental stillness in each pose. As we create space in the physical body, we will also make space in our emotional and spiritual bodies, making Yin Yoga a real dose of medicine for the soul - a time to be still, and to feel nurtured, relaxed, and restored. This class welcomes participants of all levels, including beginners. We provide options and modifications throughout the practice, making it accessible to everyone.
